Drag Radials

I have been doing a bunch of work on a square body for a guy. Basically undoing all of the hacking and BS the previous owner did to get it to run right. So pretty much got everything sorted out. This thing just blows the tires off even from a roll. Its lowered and I know that isn't helping especially with leaf springs but he wants to try drag radials first before tearing into the suspension. Whats everybody using now? Looking for something about 29 inches tall and between 10-12 wide. Its got 4.10 gears and a 26 inch tire now which obviously isn't ideal on the street. I figure going to a 29 will lower rpm for him a bit and open choices in a drag tire. Mickey Thompson, BFG or what???? Thanks guys

I ran MT ET Street 315/60's for along time and loved them. They are 30.1" tall and 13.5 section wideth. 12" tread wideth. My last 2 sets of tires were MT 275 pro's and once I got everything sorted out so it would hook the truck was much faster on them. They are slightly larger then a standard 275/60. Just remember that any drag radial in the rain is bad news, especially on a truck.

I'm running the M/T DOT Street's in 325/50/15 on a 12" rim. I originally bought them as track tires, but ended up actually really liking them on the street. I've had a non-track use set of them that probably holds the record for longest-mileage on a M/T haha, around 15k miles.

This truck is more street than strip BUT other than accidentally being caught in a rain storm is NOT a daily driver by any stretch. Its useless dry with regular radials. I wouldn't drive it in the rain now to be honest. At a 20mph roll even with 4.10's it will blow the tires off. Bfg radial ta 295/50r15 currently. Cant even think about taking off hard from a dead stop and getting traction. I was thinking of going with the M/T myself. 30 tall might be pushing it on tire height though but will help A LOT with actually driving the truck. I will have to measure more carefully. You could put coilover suspension with trailing arms and third link. And 32×14 tires with 15×12 wheels.

Et street radials 295/65/15 would greatly increase traction. They work very well and that size should be close to what you're looking for. I have been running the 315/60 for a long tI'm and they are great on the street

M/T should be coming out with a 315 pro very soon, if not already in market. less tread than the ET Street. Not much more than a regular slick. They also offer a bracket pro 29.5x10.5 radial slick that is suppose to be more forgiving, but has zero tread. I personally wouldn't hesitate to run any of these on the street, but no tread may be a problem with the law in some states.

I drove 275 pro's on the street for the last year or so. They don't live long tho and got caught in the rain once. Had to wait for my brother to come get me with the trailor. The truck was all over the place.

Thanks guy. Sounds like the Mickeys are the way to go just gotta decide which flavor to use.

Have fun. Be careful driving a vehicle race trim on public roads, it dangerous no matter how good you think you are.

Look into adding Calvert Racing Caltracs and their split leafs . They work well with leaf springs. I would do mickey or Hoosier Drag Radials.
