Thumbs up Shaved 85' Finally going 6.OH!!!

Hey guys, I'm totally new to this whole forum thread post stuff but I want to give it a try. Hopefully I'll be able to keep this build interesting and on track. Ok here's the run down I'm building (well finishing a build I started just out of high school) a 85 Silverado 2wd swb. This truck belonged to my grandmother and was given to me to drive while in highschool. After high school I attended an auto refinishing program. I started this build towards the end of my program completion. Only got as far as getting the truck painted and engine and transmission taking out. Then outta nowhere BAM!!!!! Life hit me square and the face 😂. Had a kid, work got hard to find, bills piled up, etc... The truck was the last thing I needed to be thrown cash at. I'm now at the point where I can start back on the truck and complete it fairly quickly. Plans for the truck is 6.0 I acquired a while back, static drop, coy c5s, and play interior and what not by ear as the build progress towards that point.

Last one, I had tons of more pictures post and during the paint and body process but I lost them when I deleted my Facebook account. Sucks I didn't back up all my photos

Re: Shaved 85' Finally going 6.OH!!!

Disappointing update, got a chance to get back to my home town where the truck has been sitting since I brought it back to Georgia. The tarp and truck cover I had covering it had blown away (OR TAKEN) off. Its now covered with green mucky looking crap. Also, all of my plastic interior pieces including door panels weren't where I remember leaving them. I think the paint actually looks worse than it really is. Hopefully with a good washing a clay bar I can salvage the nice paint that's hiding somewhere underneath

Sorry to see it in that condition after the work you put into it.
Hopefully a good bath and some elbow grease will bring the paint back to life.

Yeah me too, I put soap and water on a small spot it came back to life. I'm going to pick it up this weekend. I'll get pics up after I bathe her a couple times.

Re: Shaved 85' Finally going 6.OH!!!

Not much of an update, been mostly collecting parts. Over the last few weeks I've purchased the gas tank, sending unit, fuel pump & filter, transmission and a drop kit (which should be here by the end of the week). I've got the bed off and old gas tank out. I want to replace all of the crack bushings on the truck. Can anyone point me in the right direction to purchase an entire kit all at once? been looking around with no luck.

Did you try energy suspension? http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/3.18108
Looks like a nice kit. Looking at getting a kit for my truck when I'm ready for that!
Nice truck BTW. Like the color!

Thanks for the compliment. I was leaning more towards the stock rubber bushing for replacement. Nothing against the poly bushings. I just want to go back with the rubber ones

Re: Shaved 85' Finally going 6.OH!!!

Drop spindles and flip kit came in today. I had all four wisdom teeth cut out this past Friday so I won't be working on the truck at least until the weekend
