Interesting truck - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I travel routinely for work and ran across what sounded like an interesting truck. It was advertised as an original 1975 Black SWB 454 Silverado with red interior. The photos looked nice so I took a short drive to see it. The VIN and SPID do verify the truck is as claimed. The paint wasn't perfect but very presentable and the body and interior looked very nice. I don't know the '73-'87 values well and wanted some idea what this would be worth.

Hard to tell much without actually seeing pictures of the truck. Sounds like it has some nice options though.

the only thing special from that ID card is that it's a Big Block, not being rude, but other than that it's a dime a dozen 2WD automatic with air conditioning, like all the others, a manual without AC is actually more rare, I don't know how to tell from the card if this is a short box or a long one, a short one being more desireable by the Hot Rod crowd

I agree with the previous poster that we would need to see pics, even if it is a Big Block we are talkinng about a 41 year old engine, so would you even keep that motor? would you rebuild it? or is it irrelevant because you would replace it with a SBC crate engine for example

oh wait it has a factory tilt steering column and a bunch of chrome, lol

Does it show signs of being repainted at some point? If it is original paint with original trim and seems to be well taken care of I see this as a fairly valuable truck that will appreciate even if it has some bumps and bruises. Can't give an estimate value without seeing some pics though.

I also think black adds to the value. I know it does to me. I would pay more for one. It seems there aren't many here on the West Coast anyway.

I think the W/BASE section of the SPID decal might shed some light on that.

CC10703 is the model code for short wheel base:

C = Chevy
C = 2wd
10 = 1/2 ton
7 = swb
03 = reg cab

the 1175 in the "W/BASE" box represents 117.5 inches, which is the short wheel base length.

I would think this would be a great investment. These trucks are the next craze. 73-80's are sought after most, but 81-87 are not far behind. All original first, then completly redone. SWB trucks are most wanted. Big blocks are very cool! So, according to my thinking; an all original 75 big block SWB in Black!

I would have guessed that a documented SWB/454 truck would be desirable, just don't know the approximate value. The truck was definitely repainted at some point but looks nice.

You sir are incorrect. Didn't you look at the SPID sheet? That is a 1175 inch wheelbase truck. 1 of 1 unless I miss my guess?
