Re: 86 C10 LS 6.0 6L90E Swap
Got with Murphy over at lssimple and ordered this bad boy yesterday. He was very helpful and got back with me on a Saturday afternoon. That was pretty cool of him to spend an hour chit chatting on Facebook messenger after he sold me the parts.

I'm jealous of your donor truck price, I'd love to find one that cheap.

Re: 86 C10 LS 6.0 6L90E Swap
Making some progress. The trans finally decided to Crap out. All three forward gears let go. Had to drive a mile home in reverse. Got this done today though. Waiting on my adjustable engine lift puller thingy I ordered from eBay to get the donor motor and trans out the donor truck. Probably do that in a couple days.

Re: 86 C10 LS 6.0 6L90E Swap
Ordered some more parts this morning. Still gathering parts.. It's never ending. Sorry for the stock/manufacturer photos of the parts. Hooker ls swap cross member and cantilever mount adapter. Was told I might need the adapter to get the correct spacing and angle for the drive shaft. Don't know if I need it or not yet.. But I'd rather have it and not need it, then the other way round.

Re: 86 C10 LS 6.0 6L90E Swap
Hey Kidd,
I have a 6L80 and bought a Scorpion Fabrication trans cross-member for aesthetics, exhaust clearance, and because I thought it would bring my transmission up higher for drive line angle. But due to the configuration of the trans I had to use a 2" square tube under the trans to bring it up any so you will probably need that adapter.

Are you gonna run the truck manifolds or buy headers?

Re: 86 C10 LS 6.0 6L90E Swap
I'd like to run a set of long tubes with an x pipe down the line, but I'm not finding any information anywhere that says this long tube fits my year range c10 with a 6l90e... Everything I'm finding fits the 4L series trans. I'm still new to all this and from what I'm being told is the 6L trans is quite a bit wider than the 4L and no-one (header manufacturer) has really test fit a set of their headers with my combination yet. Buti could buy a set of their headers and let them know if they fit or not. I've also looked on here for a while too and not found anything that didn't require notching the frame here and there.. Not something I want to do or will consider doing. Removing metal is never a good thing especially on structural steel..Lol. If anyone has any info about long tubes for my setup, I'd love a part# and where to buy em from. As it's looking right now though, I'm probably going to run the hooker manifold. Those seem to fit vey well.. But I hate the way they look. Function over form though I guess.

Re: 86 C10 LS 6.0 6L90E Swap
Thanks for the info on those. I'l probably call those guys and see if they know for sure if their headers will clear the 6L trans. $250 for long tubes isn't bad at all.

How did you find a 6.0 6L80 for 1500? That is what I want to put in mine.

I heard that bro! If I run across another deal like that, I'd probably buy it and then pass it on to a forum member. Unless my dad decided to let me upgrade the 70 c10 I bought for him. Lol.

Re: 86 C10 LS 6.0 6L90E Swap
I called them boys out in California. They said they might have test fit a set of those headers on a truck with the 6L trans as it was being built by a local shop...But couldn't exactly remember. Pretty sure I would have written that down if it was my business and selling swap parts..But that's just me. Maybe I'm weird like that..Idk. But they did say that they have a 30 day return policy as long as the parts aren't too dinged up and damaged. I'll probably buy a set of their headers when I'm ready to test fit the exhaust so I can stay in their return policy range. If you wouldn't mind taking a few photos of yours when they come in, and you get them installed next to your trans,I would greatly appreciate it. And I'm sure some of the guys following this wouldn't mind seeing the fitment as well. $250 for some stainless long tubes is a killer deal as long as they fit as advertised. :-)

Re: 86 C10 LS 6.0 6L90E Swap
Are those headers US made or do they import them? Seems way too cheap for made here.

Re: 86 C10 LS 6.0 6L90E Swap
They said the headers were made here.... I doubt it for that price though. I talked to TODDOKY over at holley. He advised that any long tube header that fit the 4L series transmissions will fit a 6L transmission as well, as long as I use their motor mounts. Something to do with the angle of the motor and departure angles of the long tube. It apparently gets tricky when using long tubes in these swaps, and buying off the shelf exhaust systems that bolt to their long tubes. I got all the part #'s for what I'll eventually end up buying for the full exhaust system. But did get holley's motor mounts and ceramic coated long tubes. Now I have a set of the dirty dingo crinkle finished slider mounts laying around. I guess I can use them as a comparison if I ever decided to swap them around and see if they are they make that much of a difference in the mounting angles.
