I need to purchase motor mounts and a tranny mount on a 1970 c10 SBC. I looked through all the vendors and couldn't find what I'm looking for, but I want to support our vendors. If I'm understanding correctly, polyurethane is the way to go for performance right? Stiffer than rubber? I wanted Energy Suspension mounts but couldn't find any vendors that carry them.

Here's my old ones for reference, because apparently there are two different types?

The original design has worked fine for me on all my trucks. The only problem with original mounts is they are over 40 years old.

Meaning they don't make new ones?

I've seen people use square body mounts in these trucks, they come out good. Then I'd either do Energy or DIY4x mounts. I've got the DIY ones and a stock rubber trans mount in the Blazer. Works great.

Prothane makes the engine mounts.

No, meaning the originals are old and worn out. New ones work great. Rubber motor mounts can't be judged by old ones.

two types of origonal ones out there.

the first style had no safety feature to prevent the enginge from flipping over in the compartment if the rubber failed. the vehicles were recalled to correct this.

the recall resulted ithe development of the secound style that had a hook type of safety feature that would prevent the enging from flipping over if the rubber failed.

the secound style is available in both rubber and prothane type materials

the first style is still available through corvette vendor and cost about 35 bucks.

the second style is often used in origonal applications only on one side as part of the recall and later on the assembly line.

a third style, if it or they could be called that is all the other aftermarket stuff used to customise the engine compartment for visual appeal.
