Steering Shaft nut replacement
Does anyone know the size and thread pitch of this nut I have shown, nobody seams to have an extra one and I need one ASAP to get my truck back up. If I knew the thread pitch (can't find my TPG) maybe they might have it locally at a screw and nut place. Just trying to solve a problem.
Thanks 18z |

Re: Steering Shaft nut replacement
I have gone to the salvage yards and that nut is for the Tilt column only, I also checked the service manual and I don't see it on the non-tilt version.

Re: Steering Shaft nut replacement
The old ones w/o tilt was 1/2 in. fine thread. The one in your photo is tilt. It looks like it might be metric.

Re: Steering Shaft nut replacement
Cjs rods in NC may have what you need Cjsrods.com
This guy has been in the steering column business a longtime. I needed some hard to find parts for my tilt and ended up having him just rebuild it. I actually needed to adjust the same nut you're talking about and knew exactly what I was talking about over the phone. Hope this helps ![]() |

Re: Steering Shaft nut replacement
Thanks Curtb1971,
You were right cjsrod.com knew exactly what I was talking about and had the nut I needed. He was a great guy to talk to and I hope others give him a call if they need parts or advice on steering columns. His number is 336-922-1873 18Z |
