Ls swap question
I'm doing a ls swap.on my wife's 70 it a 2010 6.0 with a 4l90e trans. I was wondering what you guys that are doing them are using for radiator hoses? I bought a stock radiator but aluminum went through some of the threads here but nobody really says what they came off of. Also had to cut the trans tunnel does anyone know what year high hump trans tunnel will work? Any help would be great

Re: Ls swap question
Not sure on the trans tunnel, but I used hoses for a '05 Silverado for an LS swap. I had to trim about an inch off each end of the lower hose.

Re: Ls swap question
Depends what radiator you use. I had the inlet/outlet at the passenger side as some has claimed to be better for the LS. I used the stock LS upper "or" lower hose and I was able to make it into the upper "and" lower radiator hose. I believe it was the upper that I used. If you go with stock LS radiator you can use stock hoses.
When you say you bought a stock radiator, are you referring to the 1970 or stock 2010 radiator? :-) |

Re: Ls swap question
im going to be using the stock style brass rad that i had in my truck already. inlets and out lets seem to be the same. the stock hoses look like they could be made to fit with a slight trim
its a 4 row as well. 1967 c10

Re: Ls swap question
With 1" setback plates (placing engine in same position as SBC) the Silverado hoses worked perfectly with the stock radiator. This was on an 86 C10 but I can't imagine yours being much different.

Re: Ls swap question
Not the truck but this is just yesterday so I'm going to post it anyway since this is an LS swap thread!
Just got it mounted, connected to the trans, clutch, all of that. Clears the steering box and the firewall, just BARELY.

Re: Ls swap question
I used a vehicle specific LS radiator for my 65 Chevelle. The Griffin built radiator was $350 +\- through Summit racing. I too went with passenger in and out locations for the hoses and used a CSR straight thermostat housing that uses the small block Chevy t stat.

Re: Ls swap question
Check my build thread. Has the hose PNs for keeping the stock radiator.

Re: Ls swap question
Youll also need a coupling to attach the steam port from heads into cooling system if your using the factory radiator.. You may already know this though.
