48 CHEVY 3100 parking brake

I want to use my parking brake but there is nothing there. Previous owner stripped out every thing, thinging he would use an after market setup. So, I am looking what is being used by people here on this site.I have a disc brake Explorer rear end. There is no cables on the rear so that is part of what I need.

you may be able to use a foot operated one from an s10. the bolt to the kick panel and the cable exits through the floor. using stock ford rear cables and connector, you can tie it together under the cab exterior to the frame and get a cable place to make up the right length of connector cable to tie it all together.

Re: 48 CHEVY 3100 parking brake

I have always preferred the hand operated "Emergency brake" over the foot operated "Parking brake". Several times in the last 30 odd years, I found myself bringing something home in the middle of the night using the hand brake...

I will be using this one from a 55 Plymouth in my 52 panel build..

some import pick ups have that same style that I am sure would be fairly easy to install and then get a cable made up to connect the dots.
