Dual Tank Fuel System
I have officially started my swap today. however i have a dual tank system issue/question.
I am using dual tanks, each with its own in tank pump, and using a dual tank switch under the cab. I have started modifying the in tank fuel sender units same as aggie91 has done in his fuel sending unit thread HERE. The layout of my fuel system is as follows: the lines from the tanks will go to the under cab tank switch mechanism, then to a vette fuel filter/pressure regulator. The regulated fuel will feed the fuel rail while the over pressure from the regulator will feed back thru the tank switcher as the switched were original designed for. I will be using all AN fittings and braided fuel lines. the problem i am having is that the under cab tank switch has a plastic housing with barbed fuel line connections. how the heck am i going to convert the plastic barb type fitting to use -6 AN connections? the REST of the fuel system is straightforward and i am confident that i can plumb it as necessary. this ONE thing has me screwed up. What say ye?

Nobody huh? I cannot believe that i am the only one doing a dual tank setup using the OE switch unit.

I don't think that switch has enough spigots on it as you have two tanks in and one out. where does the return go to? My switch has 6 spigots on it and it returns the fuel to the tank it is running on. The hoses are just attached with the covered hose clamps.

That switch appears to be for carbureted pull-through applications. Your best bet is to use the switching valve, tanks and fuel pump assemblies from an 87-up truck. Scratch that, I got a better look at the wire socket configuration and see that it's for the 6-wire connector.

I used hose and clamps. There is no practical way or room to convert that valve to AN and the pressure doesn't require it. I used the 101 series weather head hose. I am going to replace the hose with this https://www.holley.com/products/plum...or_guard_hose/.
The weather head is showing some cracking after 5 years. Jay
