GSI FAB Hood Hinges

Has anyone used these before? its an alternative to Porterbuilt but other than the install instructions on their website there isn't much to find about them! no photos of installed pieces, no reviews, its like the don't exist! install seems to be a breeze, gas assisted but how tall a tire can you run? the unknown is killing me, any help would be cool. thanks!

Putting it out there again, has anyone used these or know anyone that has? With their labor day sale they are $335, a decent savings....anyone????

Re: GSI FAB Hood Hinges

I would also like to know more about them. I"m looking for a set I can use that won't bind like the stock ones but will work with the inner fenders still in place hence why the Porterbuilt ones aren't what I'm looking for.

Re: GSI FAB Hood Hinges

They look pretty cool, I'd like to see them on a truck though.
Because it say's: "1. BOLT HINGE TO 2 EXISTING HOLES IN THE FIREWALL.
2. USE THE HINGE AS A GUIDE TO DRILL THE THIRD HOLE FOR A 3/8 BOLT...."
I can't figure out what holes?

Yep, the more I look at their picture and the more I look at the firewall I think they are used without inner fenders. But that's just an opinion and not an educated one either.

Re: GSI FAB Hood Hinges

Scott Nelson (from GSIM Fab) emailed me a few photos of the hinges installed. They are DEFINITELY for non-inner fender trucks. Guys like myself running air ride and had to loose those inners have another option besides cutting the firewall. Worth a peek, not too bad looking...
