Large Flange Fender Bolts

Just some info on new fender bolts if your looking for them. The ones I find in the "kits" are not the "large flange" bolts. So if you would like the larger flange style bolts you can get them from Dorman products #700-302 they sell in 25 count (5/16"). Or a vendor on ebay called theboltbarn.
The bolt barn are not dog point but the Dorman ones are, Dorman are black oxide and the bolt barn are clear zinc. The bolt barn have them in 3/8" and 5/16".

Re: Large Flange Fender Bolts

Thanks Master Chief for the tip on the bolt sources.

I had to research dog point. Found it here.

For just about ANY GM type body bolt,, check out page 19-20 of the Auveco catalog .The body bolts with the loose washer, and the ones with the threaded threads spiraled down to a point,, it's amazing how many different bolts GM used to tut these things together over the years.

Re: Large Flange Fender Bolts

i use shoulder bolts all the time on hod rod or truck stuff /also like the hardened flange -locking nuts !! most guys building stuff use the "plastic lock nuts " that only last i time -on & off !! i always buy off the "net" very cheap and have them the next day in most cases PLUS a lot cheaper than a hardware store or fastenal and my man there almost gives them to me !!

Re: Large Flange Fender Bolts

A long time ago I bought the oversized head style from bolt depot. As mentioned these don't have the dog point as with the Dorman but I recall when pricing them back then that these were much less expensive too.

Recently found a guy who sells bolts at all the local swap meets (Pomona, Long Beach) that had the original style black oxide type but I don't think he's online.

Awesome find. I use Bolt depot all the time and missed that entirely. Thanks.
