Early Classic Drop Kit
I want to purchase the Early Classic 4/6 drop kit.
I wanted to see if anyone on here in the SoCal area knew of a reputable shop/person in the Los Angeles area that would install the kit for a decent price. Thanks again fellas! Mike |

Re: Early Classic Drop Kit
Called Early Classic and they didn't know of anyone locally. I called Bear Frame and Wheel which I've dealt with before and they want $500 to install the kit. I think that is a bit much do you think?

Re: Early Classic Drop Kit
I don't think I would do any cheaper myself. All depends on the bolts you have to take apart/bust off/ or cut off. Along with grinding/drilling rivots out.

Re: Early Classic Drop Kit
I think that's a fair deal..after all, your removing springs, stock spindles, rivets for rear shocks, etc etc etc ......at 100.00 hr which out here is going shop rate thats a smokin deal!

Re: Early Classic Drop Kit
I agree with this. It comes down to if you don't have the skills, tools and a place to do it then you have to pay someone for ALL of that. DIY you have little to no overhead and no mouths to feed, expenses or taxes to pay from the job at the end of the day. The guy you hire does. Up here In Canadian funds shop rate could easily be as high as $140. That adds up fast.

Re: Early Classic Drop Kit
500 seems cheap, If I was doing that as a side job I'd probably charge about that.

Re: Early Classic Drop Kit
That's a pretty good price actually. I'm in the process of doing it myself and and I am easily over that price buying all the tools needed for the job. I have a build thread with my progress so far. Take that deal and drop off the truck

Yup, buying all the stuff you need get's pricey quick, plus having the space. I've bee a mechanic by trade for the past 15 years so I've had a little time to amass way more than what I want to think about in tools and equipment haha.
