1964 C10 V8 battery cable routing

What is stock 12V battery cable routing from battery + to starter and battery - to ground for 1964 C10 with V8 motor?

What are correct lengths?

Where does negative/ground cable attach to ground point on motor or frame?

Does positive cable clamp to frame or inner fender skirt along path to starter?
There are 3 unused 1/4" holes in inner fender 1" above frame.

Were both cables black originally?

Looks like there was also a short 10-12 ga ground wire attached to radiator support frame sheet metal near battery and a long 10 ga wire from battery positive post cable terminal, through grommets & inside radiator support to voltage regulator.

Thanks, Clem

GO here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php?p=7336106 post 196 PIC #6 shows ground cable (black) between heater hoses at water pump and appears to be hooked on a stud (with hex head in the middle most likely) in the upper water pump bolt pass side (behind upper hose clamp)... Then go to pics#14 and 16 they show poss cable strapped to inner fender and both black..... These pics are of a "Lambrecht" (new) 50 year old no miles truck

Are you doing a restored truck ? Reason I ask is because you can buy the original GM part numbered battery cables at American Autowire. Theres quite a few different part numbers for these cables but I can help you narrow that down. If your truck has AC the location and part number will change also.

Re: 1964 C10 V8 battery cable routing

Hi,
Thanks for the help. Old stock photos help.

Not "restoring" more "refurbishing" 1964 C10 long bed, V8, 4 speed.

Trying to clean up engine bay to represent "close to original" or a "not embarrassed by" look.

Found 'battery cable routing' drawing for option 408 (V8 motor) in Factory Assembly Manual, Page 187...not sure if applies to 1964. I'll use that as basic routing. It shows the engine ground stud as top right water pump bolt and positive cable clamped 3 places.

Thanks, Clem
