The next Chapter for Bigsexxxy 66 crewcab. The end of Jose RIP.
I have been on here for a while I don't post much but I enjoy the stories and articles some of you have shared. Thanks
This story goes back a few years . This CC started its life as a C-60 my uncle found it on craigslist. Its was converted to half ton by my uncle Bryan and I a few years back. I was lucky enough to purchase it from him a couple years ago. Didn't do much with it for the first year just looked at it . Not sure why I didn't get it out and drive it more. But this last year we got it out and hit a few shows. I would take bigsexxxy and my wife would drive Jose. We have 2 kids one would ride with mom and one with dad. This was ok but I wanted all of us to be able to ride together. I have this crazy idea that I can combine both trucks into one cool family cruiser. My wife thinks i'm crazy lol she knew that 20 years ago when we got together I have been working on this for a few months now. I will try and post up pictures in order. I have a lot more work to do. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] This is what the inside looked like before. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] My dad teaching my son how to take out a few dents. [IMG][/IMG] Cleaned and painted ready for final install. [IMG][/IMG] The new bed sides showed up. These bed sides are really nice. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] Its crazy how many cabs you need for donors when this process starts. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] Dad and Briggs still at it fixing all kinds of stuff. This cab had more rust than we could have imagined when we started. [IMG][/IMG] Here is my attempt at making the roof look like a standard roof panel. Before it was just a flat piece of metal pop riveted in. [IMG][/IMG] Doors blocked and ready. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] After the Z chrome primer was down. [IMG][/IMG] Rear doors needed a lot of work. Had to put inner panel and outer skins on them both. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] Here are my 2 best helpers lol they like being out in the shop no matter what we are working on. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] |

Nice build. I was sad when you took jose apart. I pretty much had to cut the whole bottom of my crew off and start over. I noticed your crew has the double humped roof like a burban. Looking forward too seeing this thing rollin.

Its not all bad though my son gets all the old sheet metal for his first truck build he's 13 so it will be back with some changes at a later date. We have 2 of these 66's they both have the same roof. From what we can find the Orville Metal Specialties trucks (made in Ohio) had this style roof and most the Stageway trucks had the other roof. At some point we should try and get all the crewcabs together at one show that would be a great photo op. |

Good looking build. I really like the stepside bed on it.

Love the build especially converting it a big back window . I Would love one of those in the Uk . But I will have to make do with my C10 long bed . That's hard enough to park in the UK .

This is going to be quite the transformation! I will be looking forward to seeing the progress. Sad to cut one up, but your goal should be amazing. Have to ask, what color are you thinking?

Made it in on the first page.
Amazing build, Still gathering parts for a similar build. How many cabs did you use? I have two cabs, 2 extra inner and outer roof skins. Sub'd |

Re: The next Chapter for Bigsexxxy 66 crewcab. The end of Jose RIP.
Can i ask hat you did with the pinch weld at the top of your BBW conversion? i am going to do the same to mine, and have been struggling with it, as i dont want to re skin the roof. I have read about people using panel adhesive, but im a little leary about that. im tempted to just weld it up and smooth it out.
