The only locker you can get for the big 14-bolt is the Detroit. For the 60, see if you can find a Power-Lock - I believe they are a factory item in certain Dodge rear ends.

I have heard some not so good things about the powertrax....That sites down so I cant post the link now.
I will do it when its back up. There are a couple different kinds of powertrax units so I will have to refer to the data.... Posi's are good for the street...they are quiet and most (like the eaton) are rebuildable. ------------------ Toms River NJ (Transplanted Hoosier) 71 custom 20 - 307 3onthetree-bone stock *sold* 56 working Street rod (under construction) 91 S10, 4.3L-700R4 92 Olds 98 land yhat..(wifes) 20 ft. long hole in water in which i throw my money The number one cause of computer problems is computer solutions. |

HOW CAN YOU TELL WHETHER THERES A LOCKER IN A 14 BOLT FULL FLOATING REAR? ARE THERE TAGS? NUMBERS? GUY HAS ONE AND CLAIMS THAT ITS A LOCKER, BUT ITS SITTING ON THE GROUND, WHATS A GOOD PRICE?

With the 14 bolt, if you want to see if there is a locker in it, jack up one wheel. You shouldn't be able to spin it.
Also, if he is telling you that it is a locker, watch out. He might mean that there is the GM factor "gov lock" locker in it. It is unlocked until there is like a 200 rpm diffence between the axles; something like that. There is a tang that pivots to lock it up and unlock it. I have this in my 72 K20. If you dump the clutch, she'll lock up and spin both wheels. It is suppose to give you a smoother ride/operation than the true Detroit Locker. I'm happy with it. BTW, if you still jack up the one wheel and spin it, it doesn't take a whole lot of spinning to lock up the diff to test it. Just don't really hang on hard to the wheel when you spin it!
