LMC lower door repair pieces

Hey while I am down in Arizona soaking up the sun this winter I am looking at buying a few parts for my build.

I was wondering if anyone has ordered the LMC part numbers 38-9038 and 39 which are the lower door hinge repair pieces.

If so are the captured nuts included on these pieces?

I see that Mar-K does have what looks like a smaller piece that does include the captured nuts.

Also looking at dropping a considerable amount of money on a couple of Vintage Air products from Summit and after factoring in exchange at ca. 35% because of the Canadian dollar it is still worth it.

Man I wish our dollar would get back up to near par.

Anyway any help would be appreciated if you have used the LMC lower door hinge repair pieces.

Re: LMC lower door repair pieces

I used the ones from Tucker Truck parts in nevada. They were OK. My buddy that's a sheetmetal genius was able to get them in OK. My truck lived most of its' life in southern Oregon, had non-trival rust in the cab corners and lower hinge pockets.

Re: LMC lower door repair pieces

Well the first LMC reply said no cage nuts but they did send better pictures than those in the catalogue. After looking closely at the picture it was clear they had the cage so I responded back to them basically saying that with the cage there how did one get the nut in behind it!

I got another email from someone else saying that the nuts were for sure installed behind the cage so went ahead and ordered the pieces to repair lower door hinges.

On another front my expensive Vintage Air stuff came yesterday. Small block Chevy front runner system in black and complete Gen 1V air conditioner. Just like Christmas!!!

Also bought AAW classic update wiring harness. It looks like a quality product with really good reviews.

Almost wish I was home except for the 4 feet of snow and 30 below temperature there!

Going to be fun getting home next month and getting back at the build.

Re: LMC lower door repair pieces

I bought bed parts from Mar-k, but not the panels you asked about. I wanted to mention it, though, because of all the vendors I got parts from over 3 plus years, Mar-k had the best quality parts and service.

I'm guilty of enjoying the exchange rates at the turn of the century. We did several years of motorcycle trips to the maritimes and over the lakes. Got some service at a Harley dealer @ $28 cdn, which was about equivalent to $19 us.

Re: LMC lower door repair pieces

I went ahead and ordered them from LMC because I had to get a couple of other pieces. They actually came today and the caged nuts are in the cage as I had hoped.

Anything I have got from Mar-K was also top quality.

Thanks for the reply.
