Fuel Tank Supports in the Cab of my 61

So I plan to put a fuel cell or tank of sorts in the box of my 61 Short box Fleetside. What do people do or suggest doing with the factory fuel tank support brackets in the cab? I was going to cut them off smoothly where the brackets begin to bend up and forward if that makes sense. It's clean and solid where it meets the back and floor of the cab so I'm thinking that can only assist with the cab''s structural integrity? Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks, Dave

I cut off the non structural "horn" part at the top. Left the lower portion that welds to the floorpan and rear wall. In fact, I welded a flat section onto the top of one of them and mounted a custom Sub Woofer enclosure on it.
