Re: HP Tuners -- Unlimited ECMs possible single VIN? Megasquirt instead?
They didn't seem to read your post, so I just added some fancy credentials behind the same idea.

Re: HP Tuners -- Unlimited ECMs possible single VIN? Megasquirt instead?
So...........
After reading this old post you are correct. 2 universal credits (depending on requirements) will be needed for me to write a tune to my new replacement 12200411 PCM I purchased. The PCM even has the same haedware version but it does not necessarily mean the OS (operating system) is the same. This PCM has been found in trucks and Samaros and even Vettes. Yes you cannot take the current tune and just write it to the other replacement PCM. But nothing is stopping you from taking the tune data in your current saved state and copying that data to the tables for the new or replacement PCM tune. No reason to reinvent the wheel if you have already tuned your swap then just click here and there to copy your corrections over to the new tune. I would start with the Main VE table first. that way you do not have to worry about lean condition that causes spark knock. If you have spark knock and you remove some timing all your doing is removing HP. AFR needs to be right first . Then you can work on timing, then shifting and all that. Physically my setup has changed with a cam upgrade so I have to re-tune it anyway. but at least im not starting from square one.
