I Need Some Info On What Spark Plugs To Use In My 87 Chevy 350 Eng That Blows A Little White Smoke . Preferably Oil Burning Spark Plugs That Won't Foul Out To Fast

White smoke usually means you are getting coolant in the cylinders. no spark plug will help with that.

The general smoke rule is:
Blue for oil
Black for rich
White for water/coolant.

But exceptions are common. Steam looking exhaust is normal in cooler weather.

Pull and examine the plugs.

If you are fouling plugs due to an engine problem (like rings), then you should "buy" free plugs that the auto parts stores have them on sale with a mail in rebate. I have about 4 sets of Champion platinum plugs (which nobody but me likes) from free offers in the past. I don't foul plugs but the due carbon build up from only low speed city driving. Autolite plugs can also be had for free or nearly free on some offers. Black Friday is the best time to buy things like plugs, anti-freeze, oil, filters, etc.

Also, Rock Auto has clearance items listed frequently, so google Rock Auto clearance items and see what you get

I have used E3 spark plugs on two different low mile vehicles. They did not last long at all. The ground strap separated from the ceramic insulator. I caught it before they completely came loose. I would not recommend them personally.

E3 plugs are HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE plugs.

I fell for the snake oil pitch and tried them in a couple of small engines. They ran poorly or not at all. After looking at EVERYTHING else (because with a new super plug, it CAN'T be the spark plug, right?) I figured out E3 plugs are garbage.

NGK makes the best plugs on the planet. I run them in everything except my old Jeeps, and I run Champion plugs in those, simply because that was OEM.

I'd get some cheap Champion or Autolite plugs and run those. Copper plugs are dirt cheap and work great, they just don't go as long between changes, and if you're fouling plugs, you'll be changing them frequently anyway.

Check your coolant level frequently to see if that's your problem.

I had E3 plugs in my 2002 Cavalier beater when I bought it about 5 years ago. I changed them out because I did not know how long they had been in there and I wanted new plugs since I was going through the whole car to make it a reliable driver. I noticed no difference when I installed Champion platinum tipped plugs, so I don't think they improved fuel economy any.

This truck I just got I am starting with R45TS and then after checking the plugs I will determine if that is the right heat range. The heads originally used R45TS but they are being used differently than stock so I will have to determine if they are still suitable for my application.

In your case R43TS is the stock plug, an R44TS or R45TS are hotter plugs, if you are using R43TS you could try R44TS but I would not run R45TS, they would be too hot. There are non foulers available from Dorman #42006, I dont know if they really work but you could research them yourself and determine if they are something you could use.

I do not like Bosch plugs for GM... In a GM, I prefer AC Delco, in European cars Bosch work well, in Japanese cars I prefer NGK.

I would be interested to find the root cause of this problem, do you find yourself adding water/coolant on a regular basis to the radiator?

when you remove all the spark plugs do they all have the exact same wear pattern, ie they are all the same color or is one different than all the rest or a couple that are different from the other six?

this is where a dual exhaust system would come in handy, you could see if both tail pipes are emitting white smoke or just one side,

all good things to divide and conquer this problem

On The Back Two Plugs On The Right Side Have Some Oil Residue On Them But Not Much, All Other 6 Are Fine, I Put In 8 New Plugs I'LL See How It Goes
