blazer frames
I have a 72 blazer that I am modifing, it is a 4x4, but i have a stock 2wd frame I'm putting the body on, what i need to know is if the stock 4x4 rear leaf springs will mount to the 2wd frame.
Thanks for any info.

Just measure from eyelet to eyelet on the leaf spring and spring mounts on the frame and you should get your answer. But, if the springs came off a 4x4 from the same year truck. They is a pretty good chance that they wil work just fine. Chevy back than kept everything simple unlike there trucks today. Hope this helps.. Rock on people!!!

Working on a 4 link coil over spring front suspenion with 63inch leaf link rear suspenion. Running 38 Ground Hawg tires on custom 16.5 bead locked rims. 8 point roll cage and lots of other goodies. Its my money pit land boat, but I love it!!

I'm the third owner of this 74 Chevy K-5 Blazer mostly stock back in the day. Since the start of the build up the truck now has a 540 Tall Deck Big Block Chevy, 4.5 bore, speed-o-motive 4.25 stroked crank, 10 to 1 pistons that are 60 over, 800 CFM performer carb on a 454-0 aluminum intake, Brodix 2X aluminum heads with full rocker cam and 7:1 lifters. hooker heads with 2" primary and 4" collectors to a pair of flowmasters. A preped 700R4 rated to 700HP, 205 T-case, Dana 60 front limited slip, Corp 14 bolt rear lockers, with 4:88. Working on a 4 link coil over spring front suspenion with 63inch leaf link rear suspenion. Running 38 Ground Hawg tires on custom 16.5 Trail Ready bead locked rims. Custom dash with Auto meter gauges, Bear custom seats, 8 point roll cage and lots of other goodies. They will as long as the frame rails- where the hangers are- are 34" wide on outside.

it probably won't work since a 2wd blazer has coils with trailing arms in the back of it. but you could move your spring hangers and everything else to the new 2wd chassis. but what i would do is just run the stock rear trailing arms. i have just finished up on a blazer 4wd to 2wd swap so email me if you have questions

If you want rear leafs, it may be easier to move the front 2wd crossmember to the 4x4 frame. It's nearly a bolt up and you can give me the 2wd frame since I want trailing arms! LOL.

either way, it will work, can put leaves on 2wd frame or put 2wd cradle under 4x4 frame.
Depends on how much work you wish to do. Just remember that you cant put coils and arms on a true 4x4 or longhorn frame good luck ------------------ A 68 C-10 panel and a 68 dually C-30 dump truck and a couple 71/72 chassis projects.
