Cylinder head bushings
The two locator bushings in my cylinder head have been pushed up into the counter bore. Anyone know how to draw them out so they have a little more purchase in the block?

Unless I just had a stroke and started remembering things backwards, don't they go in the BLOCK?
As in you should remove them from the head (or get a fresh set) and install them into the block? I'm guessing the ID of the hole in the head must be a little smaller than the ID of the block hole and the heads "grabbed" the dowels.

Well, three of the four stayed in the heads when I pulled the heads. The one in the other head is sticking out about half way. No problem there.
Not sure if the previous owner ever had head work done, but these seem pretty stuck. They are basically a roll pin or spring pin so they take up any extra diameter of the hole. I could cut or grind them out but that seems pretty extreme. |

After some nervous tapping with a pin punch i was able to drive them out from the top side. Problem solved!
