Re: todd68chevy
Started gathering parts for the GMC grill swap. I had a hood. Now I have a lower grill and center trim. Not the best shape but I just have not seen very many to choose from. Now the search goes on for the rest of the parts.

Re: todd68chevy
Showed up at my buddy's place tonight to work on the 46 for next few days and found out he has been working on it. Great to see progress. He stripped out the cab and started welding in the floor, started the left rocker panel, finished the cab patch panels, worked on the firewall and probably more that I have not noticed yet. Should be more progress tomorrow.

Re: todd68chevy
I got a call from home Sunday morning that my Dad was taken to the hospital Saturday night so I loaded up and returned home before getting to work on the truck. Hope to make the trip again soon.
In case you're wondering, the truck is at my buddy's place in Michigan about 270 miles from me. He is doing all the body work when he has extra time and I try to help as much as I can. I used to be up there several times a year but life changes and I don't have time to get up there very often anymore.

Re: todd68chevy
Well life has been happening and the truck took back burner for a long while. Took some time to come up to my buddy's place in Michigan and we have gotten to work on the truck and enjoy the trip doing some other stuff also. May not look like much so far but we put the cab back on the frame, got the 4 rear cab mount brackets figured out and started. Also figured out the seat height and working on finishing up the seat mounting brackets. Also started checking out the front end to see what needs changed or modified to install the GMC grill. Hopefully today things will go smooth and we can finish up the seat mounting brackets and then pull the front end and cab off the frame so the cab mounts can be braced and finished up. Also I will work on getting the running board brackets cut off because that all needs changed because they were set up before we decide to stretch the cab. I have not taken many pictures but here are some of the cab mounts he figured out.

Re: todd68chevy
Not much visable progress but more progress made. Worked on finishing up seat brackets, welding the floor, test fitted the GMC grill seeing what parts I still need to get to change from the Chevy grill to the GMC grill.

Re: todd68chevy
Thanks, I agree, my buddy does excellent work. I help as much as I can but he is the man behind the main frame and body work. Hope to finish the floor today and pull the cab so the mounts can be finished up. Seems like slow progress when finishing up the welding but more important than alot of other parts.
