Looking to install a metal bed floor from a 67-72 model in my 64 fleetside swb. Any tips tricks or things I need to do? Any one have pics of theirs in process? Thanks in advance for the help!

Re: Fleetside steel bed floor
71 steel floor in 66. Only need to trim rear corners of floor. Had to cut the floor since I shortened my long bed.

Re: Fleetside steel bed floor
My 61 had 1/8 sheet steel installed. Nothing fancy, but worked well.

Re: Fleetside steel bed floor
I installed one from a '68. As mentioned above you will only have to cut notches out on back for bedsides to go on.

Re: Fleetside steel bed floor
Around here you can not find a '67-'72 steel bed floor that isn't beat to crap unless it is attached to excellent condition bedsides. In which case you will pay big $$$$$ for the whole bed. Especially a short bed. At that point a guy may as well buy a new aftermarket steel bed floor. Obviously this is not the case in all areas of the country.

Re: Fleetside steel bed floor
Picked up the steel floor at Carlisle truck show last year - $125 no rust, couple dents. May have been one of my best finds at Carlisle!
