Dana 44 "knuckle" removal

I have everything disassembled but the outer half of the knuckle (not sure what they are actually called). Any tips on removing the upper and lower joints? The top has an adjustment nut inside the threaded housing (where the bolt goes through). Here's a pic to better explain.

Just Use a BFH(big f'n hammer) and either hit the arm or the top balljoint..

It will drop out then..

Is that waht you were asking??
The nut you see is threaded inthe axle part. you'll use that to adjust when you get new balljoints..

It has nothing to do with getting the knuckle off..

Its easier when the axle is in the truck, but what can ya do eh, lol. I just used a long 6' breaker bar and applied 250lb (me) of pressure downwards while my friend took a 12lb sledge to it and bamb, it poped off.

Thanks guys--the "BFH" worked along with a "special" tool. Took a piece of square tubing and slide it in the axle tube and shimed it so it was tight. Then we took a bolt with a nut and put it in between the lower ball joint stud and the square tubing and turned the nut until it was as tight as we could get it. Layed a ball pean hammer (ball end down) on upper stud and used the famous "BFH". 2 good whaps and it came out! Picture will give you an idea of what we did.
