64 panel/suburban

So let me first say hi , not a new member but one that forgot his password, I have tried to reset it.
Anyway I'm having a heck of a time finding rear window seals for the barn door glass has anyone found a place or has used something else that works.
Again thanks for the help

Check with Steele Rubber. They carry a lot of hard to find stuff. Pricey but good quality.
Anyone else agree or know someone else?

Re: 64 panel/suburban

I agree about Steele rubber.
I have a set of their seals for my clam shell.
I haven't had time to put them on, but i can tell they are better quality then the seals that they will replace which i bought cheap 20 + yrs ago.

20 + years ago i bought a cheap windshield gasket from one of the regular suppliers, at the same time i bought vent window seals from Steele. today the windshield gasket is cracked and hard, the vent window seals are still soft and pliable. I remember thinking at the time that the vent windows seals were way overpriced.

Ky, what part of Az are you in?

Re: 64 panel/suburban

Ky, Sorry I messed tyour phone call this morning.

The window seals on my panel were in when I bought it, sorry I can't be much help.

Seems like I read somewhere that you can use the same gasket as the rear window on a suburban with a tailgate, you just have to cut it in half....

I've heard about Bob's. Let us know how they are. I think he even sells the tailgate and clamshell rubber, but not sure.

Re: 64 panel/suburban

Well the windows are in, the seals are fantastic and because I live in AZ I had them the next day, the people I talked to were fantastic, sure the seals are not cheap but they fit great.

Re: 64 panel/suburban

Those look great. Much better than what the PO put in mine, which were universal "bead lock" style, and they cut them short, so there is a gap at the bottom. I'll need to get some of these.

Fairly easy to install???

Re: 64 panel/suburban

Not bad , I think I had both windows installed in about 1/2 hr. Made up a bucket of soapy water and used a rag to make sure it was drenched and slicked two people would have been better but was able to get the job done by myself.
