Re: e-z standard 12 wire column wiring
I made this diagram to figure mine out. Column is an 82 eldorado, so it has a some extra circuits but the basic stuff is standard gm.

This video shows how to hook your swith up to a standard GM plug. Worked great for me...

Re: e-z standard 12 wire column wiring
Most of those switches are pretty well color coded the same as other similar switches in that the colors usually perform the same function on most aftermarket switches.
Best thing is to do something real close to what Orrie did in that you want get out the instructions for the wiring kit and the instructions for the switch and then get out a piece of paper and on one side draw the wires from the wire kit including telling what color they are and what function they have. Once you have those drawn out you get out the diagram for the switch and match function to the harness. Ground wire to ground wire, Left front to left front, right front to right front an so on and so forth. It's not rocket science you just have to know what wire on the switch matches what wire on the harness. How you connect them is up to you but I prefer to use some system that lets me unplug the switch if I need to without cutting wires. I've used the bullet style terminal ends on things like that before with good luck as they really stay together and they don't bulge much on the harness when you get them connected and everything tucked away.

Thanks that was helpfull, can I ask does this mean if I'm adding an extra flasher relay and not using the two feed wires from the e-z wiring harness that the relays on the fuse board are redundant? |

Re: e-z standard 12 wire column wiring
If your ex 12 harness has wires that are labeled left and right indicators the you do not use the flasher if your harness kit has the flasher built in. Mine did.
You use the first example in the video if you are going to use your own dash mounted indicators and your harness has the provision. If you want to use the indicators on your blinker switch, you have to use the external method in the second explanation with the added flasher unit. My horn worked according to that setup ( shocked). Also, I used key on ( L ) for power. My safety flashers will only work key on, which I prefer. In my truck, key on nothing is on anyway. Have super ate toggle for elec fuel pump. Hope this helps and I didn't ramble on! Phil...
