First start - off to tuner next
I started it up for thw first time yesterday. Now it is off to the tuner to get it running right.
2004 lm7 motor out of 2wd chevy silverado. Stock 4l60e transmission. 80lb injectors. Turbo and intercooler from vs racing sloppy mechanic kit. Flipped truck manifolds and custome fabbed 2.5" hot side and 3" cold side. 3" down tube to a race venom exhaust. Boyd tank with in tank pump. Modern vintage systems provided an awesome cut down harness. I am anxious to see how much power it produces on the dyno. |

Re: First start - off to tuner next
Nice build!
The stock 4L60E is not gonna last. They're just not up to the task when it comes to the brutal torque of a turbo. As for the fuel system, how big is the pump and what type of fuel? That'll likely be your limiting factor. If its a typical walbro 255, I'd say 475ish to the tire on gasoline is about it. Watch those fuel pressures and duty cycles closely.

Re: First start - off to tuner next
No update yet, still waiting to get in to the tuner.
As for the pump, it is an In-Tank Aeromotive Stealth 340. I used the truck manifolds flipped over to make the hot side. I am guessing the trans will last until I put bigger tires in the back. I still have the skinnies on the back, so I wont be able to get much power to the ground. |

Re: First start - off to tuner next
So I changed direction a little. I just picked up a copy of HpTuners and I am going to do the base tune myself. Final tune will be done by a professional on a dyno.
First step I turned off the VATS and adjusted the fuel injector setting for the 80# injectors. She runs!!! https://youtu.be/FBG2dXeaZtI |

Re: First start - off to tuner next
Making a bit more progress. The grill is back on with the intercooler tucked in nicely behind. I also got the 2 bar map sensor installed and mounted under thw vortec engine cover.
It is idleing good, so now I need to get it road ready to do some driving tuning. |

Re: First start - off to tuner next
How was the fit with the grill and intercooler? Any pics of mods you had to make to get it to fit?

Re: First start - off to tuner next
I did not take any pics, but I did have to modify the grill. I cut 1.25 inches off the upper flange. No other mods were required. I will see if I can get a decent pic with it on the truck.
