To the best of my knowledge, this Chalet #0099 is, or was, one of the better ones out there, but it was in better shape the last time I saw it in previous Craigslist ads. I first learned of it for sale in Redford, Missouri in 2007 when I was told it had had an older mostly full restoration done to it, which included redone vinyl stripes. So the ad is inaccurate about it being all original. It had significant cab floor patch work done to it by the next owner in Montana, and it had an owner there afterward before landing with the current one in Colorado. The seat covers over the cab seats is not a good sign, as is the missing fridge, and somebody has repainted the wheels in an incorrect factory color. These defects take the thing down in collector value, not up to its asking price.

Thanks for the heads-up on the Jalopnik article - I sent the author an email.

This one is #1248 built in 11/76, one of its prior owners alerted me to it much earlier this year when he found it on one of those Seattle-area islands, summer 2016. Iffy price, one really has to check under the cab floor carpet to make sure the rust isn't terminal.
