1950 Interior Cab Corner Holes

My truck is at the body shop currently and he called me wanting me to get the inner cab corners. I mentioned I didn't think it was necessary but I would like him to fabricate a piece that covers the opening in the corners. Did these trucks come from the factory with those openings in the floor? It seems ridiculous if they did but all the patch panels don't have a piece that fills it.

I'm going to have to ask what holes you are talking about. There are the hole for the heater inlet on the passenger side that you can put a factory cover plate over if you don't use it, the hole in the left side of the floor for the emergency brake pedal. Some holes in the floor that bolts go into to fasten the inner fender on. Slots in the driver's side kick panel where the cowl vent lets air in. Plus the firewall hole for the heater motor and holes for the hoses and wires. and stomp start pedal plus the holes for the foot pedals. Not all in the corners but ????

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: 1950 Interior Cab Corner Holes

maybe the shop means rear inner cab corners?

$33 from classic.

otherwise could be any of mr48's suggestions.

lots of guys just fab a cover that fits level with the floor to seal road noise and critters out for the rear inner cab corners.

Yes that's what they were meaning, I was just having a hard time believing that there was never anything covering those rear inner cab corners but I guess that's really how it was.

Re: 1950 Interior Cab Corner Holes

They rust out on a regular basis as more build threads on here show where guys replaced them during the rebuild.

It doesn't help any that farmers had a habit of pulling the trucks up by the garden hose an hosing the dirt out of the trucks thinking all was wonderful because the had rubber floor mats.

Re: 1950 Interior Cab Corner Holes

My replacements from LMC have drain holes. Don't think I'll hose it out anytime soon, but...
