66 C10 Stepside Backup Lights

having trouble locating the correct backup lights. my 66 has the recessed cutouts in the bed fenders. the 60-65 use the gasket flange to level out the light.

do any of the restoration part vendors sell these?

I have a pair of used bu lights with the angled gasket, they just have newer lenses on them.

A 66 is a 1 year specific.
Take look at the photo and see everyones thoughts.
You can see how the rear part of the fender is recessed.
This type has the light sit flush without using an angled gasket.
Any info out there? There has to be source.

Classic Parts shows a BU light that looks to be flush mounted.

As does LMC

Wouldn't they work?

Are you looking to sell your back up lights? I'd be interested in buying them.

Re: 66 C10 Stepside Backup Lights

Found these housings. I think these would be correct for the 66 Stepside.
Any insight?

Re: 66 C10 Stepside Backup Lights

That does not look at all correct to me. You stated in your post that the gasket is angled when it is actually the base of the backup lamp assembly that is angled. Click on the he LMC link in post number 4 above and you can see an exploded diagram. The diagram shows them mounted on a tab but the parts look just like the fender mounted backup lamps on my 66 short step.

The part in your pick looks like the housing from a backup lamp for a FLEET side truck, totally different design.

Re: 66 C10 Stepside Backup Lights

Let me clarify.
Most of the 60-66 Stepside bed fenders had a largehole drilled which used an angled gasket, bezel and lens.

Mine does not. My fender has a factory recessed opening for the backup light. Mine doesnt use this type of gasket. if you notice this housing fits the bolt hole pattern on the previous pix i attached of the recessed opening.

I dont think this housing is for a Fleetside.

Need confirmation.

Thanks

63Burb, thanks for the pics, but I am looking for the 60-65 type. It looks like what you have might be what firehawk is looking for, 1966 specific?

Re: 66 C10 Stepside Backup Lights

Firehawk,

Sorry, I didn't initially notice that on your fender picture! I have never seen that before, mine has the other kind you mention with the large hole and angled base. I hope you can find the right part.
