Are the boxes on our truck adjustable?
Just wanted to know if it's possible to loosen up the box mounts on the frame and pull it back about 1/2" or so. My box is too close to my cab and around a sharp corner or turning into a hill where the frame flexes a bit, the box bolts that hold the side and front of my box will tap on my cap. I got a few chips on the cab and the box Perhaps my mounts are bad? I don't know! I don't want to drive it anymore until I get this fixed. Thanks!

I don't know if you'll get 1/2" but it could move a little. You could also move the cab forward.

How many bolts is it to take the box off? Maybe then I'd just elongate the holes and make the box adjustable I don't want to loosen up the cab and try sliding that.

There are eight bolts that hold the bed on the frame, they are 3/8 bolts, There is a little room to possible slide it back but not much. You may be able to get a 1/4 of an inch, but that will all depend on where every thing is at now. I would check all you bushing mounts and make sure there are none missing or totally squashed which could also appear to put the bed and cab close together.

Ypu may want to look at your cab mounts, this is a good sign that they are falling apart.

bed header bolts
Another thing to consider would be swapping out those header bolts. Chevy used both a hex head bolt and a #3 phillips. If you have the hex head, swap it for a phillips and you'll get a little more room plus no corners to knick the paint. This problem seems to be more prevalent on short beds.
