having a hard time. 700 and driveshaft

Im hooking up a 700 to my 292 and i cant find anything on whats necessary to make this possible. Tried the stovebolt site and the 12 bolt. It bolts right on but im afraid i will need a certain starter

also have no luck with a short bed driveshaft and i would not like to pay 300 if its still gonna have to b cut and balanced. Any help will b appreciated

Your biggest hurdle will be getting the TV cable connected with the correct geometry and properly adjusted. That is unless of course you have a 4bbl carb. For a starter all you need is one for the particular size flexplate you are using that bolts to the block. Just have your original driveshaft shortened to the correct length. That shouldn't cost anywhere near $300.

When you go to the parts store, ask for a starter for a vehicle that came with a 292 and an automatic.('69 C20, 292, powerglide). I want to say they are same as a starter for an SBC... straight across bolt pattern. Make sure you're running the correct flexplate too.
