Astro Hydroboost - What master cylinder?
I have a 95 Astro van hydroboost and the Astro master cylinder. I would like to run a more modern looking master than the 71 cast iron one. I'm not sure what modern cylinders will work with both my boost and the disc/drum set up. I also assume I will have to use my original proportioning valve?? I don't want to spend the Willwood prices.
I did a search on the forum, but after an hour I found no definitive answer. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Astro Hydroboost - What master cylinder?
I used my original MC and valve. I only changed the vacuum booster with the hydraulic one (HB)

Re: Astro Hydroboost - What master cylinder?
There are a million ways for a master cylinder to not be a good choice: bore diameter, quick take up vs non quick take up (affects the portion that goes into the booster), ISO flares vs US flare type, inboard ports vs outboard ports, front port goes to the rear system vs front port goes to the front system, to name a few.
Having said that I think the Astro hydroboost is a good choice. K

Re: Astro Hydroboost - What master cylinder?
I've run it both ways and it works. they are disc/drum in the astro so if thats what you are running it will be good.

Re: Astro Hydroboost - What master cylinder?
Where’s the best place to get a complete Astro setup other than a pick and pull? If I search ebay all I find is just the hydroboost without the master cylinder.

I'm interested in this swap. Does anybody have any pictures? Am I able to use my stock MC?

Re: Astro Hydroboost - What master cylinder?
I've done 2 hydroboost setups.
1970 Nova - used the astro booster and MC for the Astro 1972 c10 - used a booster from an early 2000's silverado and the factory c10 booster For both setups I used an aftermarket prop valve.
