Anyone doing a stock restoration and post progress here?
Seems to be a million ways to build a modified 67-72 in 'projects and builds' but strangely no stock restorations. Tried a search but came up empty. Anyone here posting progress on a stock restoration??
Thanks, Steve weim55 Colorado |

Watching with interest. I wouldn't mind following some stock restorations myself.

This gentleman does stock restorations and an amazing job on them. When I have the funds in the next couple years, I would love to get in-line for a restoration on my 72 K10 SWB Super. Here is a thread on one of his restorations:

Stock restorations are some of the hardest to do vs. custom stuff...that might be one of the reasons why.
They are a lot of details to get right but a few guys have pulled it off...including a few here. Hopefully they will post up their builds. all good Coley

Yeah I'm in the middle of a stock restoration myself, look on the builds section for Grandpa's 72 restoration. I have a few things not stock, ie houndstooth seat cover, carpet, and stock appearing 383...but otherwise it will be all factory including the D89 paint stripe option

Re: Anyone doing a stock restoration and post progress here?
I am doing one right now. I just have not posted any progress because I wanted to wait until I am done. (Multi-year project for sure.) I found a totally unmolested 1970 K10 4 speed, 250 short box right here in my own rust belt state! Only 38K miles, but obviously it has been sitting all its life (Luckily indoors). She deserves to stay just the way she came from the factory. She still has her original hose clamps on her! Her interior is also untouched including the AM radio. Bench seat is filthy, but only has one small rip along a seam. I will save it as no repo seat covers exactly duplicate the 70. Not a big fan of green and gold (I'm 57 so I remember the late 60's very well and did not even like it then!) but she is going to stay just like her bill of sale lists her. Have the original from a dealer in Rome, NY. You have encouraged me to start posting. Her front end was all torn apart when we rescued her, and I have the Dana 44 all rebuilt and will be working on the motor and brakes over the winter.
