Re: Parting newer NP 205 with slide in tail shaft
I'll take the tail housing, & does that include the piece the speedo housing is screwed into? Also looking at the pics it looks like some of the reinforcement fins are broke off, just want to make sure the housing isn't cracked & last ? was this attached to a turbo 400?
Thanks, Tom

Re: Parting newer NP 205 with slide in tail shaft
You were right 2 fins are broke but no cracks the truck was on its side when I removed the transfer case so I'm guessing fork lift damage

Re: Parting newer NP 205 with slide in tail shaft
Just read your post again it doesn't include the piece the speedo is screwed into but I will sell that also for 35 but the speedo drive has already been removed. It will all fit in a medium flat rate for 13. Let me know if still interested.

Re: Parting newer NP 205 with slide in tail shaft
is this a round or figure eight case? if its a round case would you consider selling the case itself?

Still need the bolts that hold the outer plates. I bought one in peices, no hardware for re assembly. Do you have anymore?
Thanks

Re: Parting newer NP 205 with slide in tail shaft
Assuming newer means a round pattern input side, don't scrap the case. NV4500 swappers want it. Hell, I might buy what remains after parting...

Re: Parting newer NP 205 with slide in tail shaft
No, newer means 73 up has the slide in yoke (no sure when the slide in yoke came out but post 72) at the rear still come off a 350 turbo so doesn't have the round flange.

Re: Parting newer NP 205 with slide in tail shaft
Tail shaft was from an Early 80s-early 90s 1 ton reg cab if I recall correctly. Im curious to know if this in fact had a t350 in front of it. I would have figured a 400 or 465.

Re: Parting newer NP 205 with slide in tail shaft
It had a 350 adapter on it when I bought it and I know my brother-in-law had one behind a 350 turbo years ago that he used for 4 wheeling. Actually he may have one still laying around if so I will get a picture.

Re: Parting newer NP 205 with slide in tail shaft
I think all NP205/adapter mating went to round no matter which transmission. Transmission has nothing to do with the output end. My buddy had a '79 K/20 (bought new) that had a NP205/TH350/manual hubs.
