89-90 suburban value?
my friend has a 89 or 90 3/4 ton 4x4 suburban, that is rust free from cali. theres no motor or trans in it, haven't seen it in person but hes going to be bringing it by in about two weeks. what might the value be if its in as good of condition as he says? bucket seat, loaded, rear air. was a 454tbi but all that is gone.
I would be doing a cummins swap in it anyhow, so no real loss on the bigblock.

Re: 89-90 suburban value?
Pretty sure the 4x version was not available with the 454.. That being said the shell if in really good condition, could be worth a couple of grand depending on the level of trim and accessories. Barn doors/tailgate, bench or bucket seats up front, front and rear A/C...etc. finding parts for these is getting really scarce.

well I had to go and check. looks like it was available in 90 with a 454, but not in 89 or 91. guess we will see once it shows up. he's supposed to bring it by in two weeks.

Re: 89-90 suburban value?
I would say no more than $2,000.00 even on a good day. If the Suburban is in great shape other than missing an engine/trans, it's great for you being they are not wanted anyway and will save a few hours off wrenching to pull them for your Cummings swap.
A buddy just purchased a 1986 K20 in GREAT shape (missing the engine) for $4,000.00 and it came with $7,000.00 dollars worth of N.O.S. (retail)parts to restore it. I gave him first chance at it, and he took it. |
