WTB: power brake booster
As I hear the reman boosters are junk, I'm looking for correct a power brake booster for my 70 C10. Running a BB in it. Will have front disc conversion brakes. I have the master cylinder. Just need the correct booster.
Thanks! |

Re: WTB: power brake booster
As far as correct, I don’t recall what booster a 70 has on it, the boosters all interchange as far as firewall mounting, the mechanical difference is in how far the center pin sticks out to contact the master cylinder, there is short which is actually recessed a little, I believe that to be 71-2 3/4 ton and almost all others stick out like the one I have for sale.

Re: WTB: power brake booster
For my own reference I looked for pics of a 70 half ton booster, 69-72 half ton boosters are all the same and shown in post 5 of this thread

Re: WTB: power brake booster
Randy, I sent you another PM. Please reply. I don't think the one you are selling is the same as those in the pic in thread 5.

Re: WTB: power brake booster
PM replied and this is not the same as the one in pic 5. The original half ton ones are fairly flat in the front face, single diaphragm and larger diameter.

Re: WTB: power brake booster
So I got home and checked my 70 parts manual. There does not appear to be any changes of boosters between small and bib block applications. They do differentiate between Ser 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50-60.
Oddly, the parts book does not list the booster as a full assembly, that I can tell. They have numbers for the front and rear shells. 70 Ser 10. Blazer (Conv. 4/WD) w Brake Booster --rear w/seal (Bendix 2508458) 3979467 --front w/stud (Bendix 2508880) 3979477 |
