Steering wheel replacement question

I just bought a Teakwood steering wheel out of a 1965 Corvette, it has a 6 bolt mounting setup. My question is, does anyone know which adapter hub I will need?

Thanks

Re: Steering wheel replacement question

I believe its a 67-69 camaro adapter i have on my 70 for my 60s corvette wheel. Should be the same for you.

Re: Steering wheel replacement question

If your truck still has the original column, you can use a hub for '67-'68 Chevy models with the simulated woodgrain wheel.

The hubs are all available as reproductions. The horn buttons and hardware are also available.
So, look for a '64-'66 hub.

Edited to correct wrong information. Tim

Re: Steering wheel replacement question

I put a 2 spoke wheel 64-66 in my 66 Suburban. The 64-66 hub is too small in Diameter so I used the 67 68 Camaro hub to get the right fit.

Thanks for the responses gentlemen. I forgot to mention I have a three on the tree, not sure if it makes a difference or not.

Re: Steering wheel replacement question

Hey Jon, I learned something. Did not realize that the truck column was larger in diameter. Good to know. Have to dig out a '67-'68 hub for the '64.
Sorry for giving the wrong information in my earlier post. Tim

Can you tell me which one you bought and where you got it from? I can only find ones that have a notch cut in them for the bottom wheel spoke. The wheel I have is not a riveted on bottom spoke so the mounting surface needs to be flush all the way around. See the attached image for the notch I’m referring to.

You don't have much of a choice but to use the one with that notch. Just fill that notch with epoxy and smooth it out. I used an original GM hub on my truck. The Camaro will work

Please post a picture of the wheel. Everyone thought you were putting on a factory wheel and advised you in that direction.

You may need something totally different.

Re: Steering wheel replacement question

Here is a picture of the steering wheel. It is off a 1965 Corvette. I have contacted a few of the places that manufacture the hubs, they don’t reproduce them without the notch. However, I did fine one that comes with a shim for the recessed are. I going to order it and see how it works out.

Thanks again for all the feedback.

That hub looks like the 64-66 hub , smaller Diameter than the hub I used

This hub was the same dimensions as the first one, but it came with the pre made shim. I test fit the first one so this one should work nicely. Just need to paint it first.

Thanks again for the help.

Re: Steering wheel replacement question

Reviving this old thread since its the most relevant I could find in the search. I have a factory 68 Corvette wheel and I'm adding to a factory 66 C10 Floor shift Column. I have this adapter and the horn button, both from a 67-69 Camaro.

Any hints on how to hook up the cancelling cam, horn hardware, etc? Any other parts required to for the switch from the factory wheel to the Corvette wheel? Here is a pic of the all the conversion hardware I have.

Re: Steering wheel replacement question

Bump. Anything? Mainly trying to understand, from those that have done the conversion, what parts are required from each year to make the turn signals and horn function properly (ie use the cancelling cam from the Camaro, with the 66 C10 Turn signal switch, etc...). Looking the pics of these gorgeous trucks, I'm assuming that these trucks all are fully functional (horn, turn signals, etc)

Thanks!
