Transmission Lines

Just wondering if anybody has used the Russell Twist Lok hose/fittings for transmission cooler lines?

Re: Transmission Lines

I'm running the aeroquip push lock stuff and summit ends between hard line and cooler lines. Also using same combo for the low pressure fuel system

Re: Transmission Lines

Subscribing and tacking on to this thread - Seems like the Russell Powerflex is the way to go - what ends were used to connect to the radiator/factory cooler and the trans end?

Going to be running a 4L80E but should be the same connectors as the 4L60E I believe.

EDIT: Did some digging and found this:

Converts the 4L80E stock fittings to -6an fitting - which if I understand correctly means I'll be able to just run standard high pressure braided line suitable for trans fluid to the compression fittings at the radiator/stock cooler end. Radiator/stock cooler is from a 2006 Yukon that was originally equipped with a 4L60E

Re: Transmission Lines

I removed the stock fitting on my transmission and install a fitting that went from the transmission case to a -6an fitting.

Re: Transmission Lines

I recently purchased the Russell adapters from transmission fitting to -6an and also purchased adapters to -6an from my radiator.

I already have the twist-lok lines and fittings for my fuel system, I just wasn't sure if it was able to be used for transmission cooling as well.

When assembling my fuel system, I had no problem putting the line on the fittings, they are double barbed and you have to push like crazy to install. I have no worries about these coming lose, plus it was real quick to put together.

Ah, looks like that line is rated to 250psi and is oil safe, which should be plenty for trans cooler lines, and I am sure the ends would be fine too - the cooler lines on my Toyota (with similar pressures as a GM OD Trans) uses fuel injection rated clamps at the cooler end and oil-safe fuel injection hose... been great for 2+ years and 50,000 miles.
