Engine Numbers
Well I THINK the motor in my 47(2) 3600 is a 235, but need to know for sure...
To that end, these are the numbers cast into the head... 3835913 GM1, AND 4B 913 066 570 Could not find any in the block...so far... So....What do I have? |

Re: Engine Numbers
Are there any numbers on the block behind the distributor?

Re: Engine Numbers
As Cmayna asked, there should be some letters and numbers stamped in the machined pad to the rear of the distributor. You may have to clean the paint and or grease off the pad to read the numbers. The prefix letters will tell you what the engine came out of an what size it is. http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/models/engine.htm

Re: Engine Numbers
According to the page that I posted the link to KBA is a 52 216. The engine should have a full side cover that cover the side of the head along with the side of the block.

Re: Engine Numbers
OK... it has the full side cover. The head is apparently a 54 235. There are four valve cover bolts.
