I was INCREDIBLY impressed with the quality of the cover itself, BUT the foam they were selling approximately 4-5 years ago was way too firm. I ended up pulling the cover and reusing my original foam with a bit of reinforcement added. I worked with a guy named Joe at CarsInc. His last name escapes me right now. Jeff |

Wow...very nice! I don't think I have ever seen that upholstery pattern before now.

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?
my apologies for following y'all off topic, but these are very cool too I think..
found this thread with pictures researching the original seat in my new '71 longhorn.. called 'black cloth trim' on the spid, just shouts 70's! hadn't seen this pattern in person myself either but I love it! http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...th#post8039244

Have a chance to buy this highlander; unfortunately motor/trans are long gone. Pretty complete other than drivetrain and fairly solid.was hoping for a super , but the more I learn, the more I’m liking this truck

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?
Nice find Pete. Sharp truck. I believe D60 was standard if a C20 was ordered with leaf springs, at least in the 71-72 era. I think... Not the case with Ks though.

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?
Mark thanks for the heads-up on that. I wrongly assumed 4wd convention for rear axles applied to 2wd.

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?
Mark, Pete any idea why C20 had D60 and K’s got the HO? Didn’t the Dana have 2 1/2” brakes compared to the HO at 2”? Wasn’t 72 the last year for the HO, also what’s the difference between the 52 and the 72 ?
Thanks guys |

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?
Bill, I believe inclusion of optional leaf springs in a Chev C20 is what triggered the inclusion of D60 rather than HO. Yet all the Ks were rear leaf spring trucks and all got the HO rear I believe. Odd if you ask me. That may be due to gear matching availability with a front D44 - but it doesn’t really explain why a C20 didn’t get an HO rear with leafs. Would love to hear a definitive answer as to why a C20 with leafs got D60 and K20 with leafs got an HO. Personally, I wish they all got the D60.. More parts still available.

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?
Thanks Joe - I did not know that D60 was standard on K2500s. I think I knew leafs were standard on C2500s (unlike C20s) and that they got D60s on all as a result - but did not know that carried over onto the K20s. Makes sense and I sure wish Chevy had done it! But that does dispel the gear matching theory at least!
