Can I use 72 C10 front suspension on a C20?

I have searched and seen lots on C20 to front 5 lug disc C10 conversions and they never say you can use 1971/2 C10 parts. I'm asking because a I have a 65 C20 and a 72 C10 donor. Thanks

On the '63-'66 C20's you will have to change the entire suspension including the crossmember with that from a '71-'87 C10. You do NOT have to use only '71-'72 parts. If that is what you already have, then by all means use it.

There are several posts that use the just the C10 LCA, spindle and tie rod to do this. But they never say to use 71 and 72 C10 parts. Is there a difference that would keep this from working?

You have to use the entire cross member. The lower control arms mount differently on the C20. You will need all of the steering components.

Roll the old out, and roll the new in.
Do the whole crossmember and all.

The difference is that you are converting a '63-'66 C20 to a C10. A C10 lower ball joint will be too small for a '63-'66 C20 lower control arm, and on the '63-'66 C20's you can not just change the lower control arms for those from a C10. The '63-'66 C20's have a flat lower control arm shaft with no saddle which is necessary to hold a round C10 lower control arm shaft. That is why you have to change the entire crossmember. If you were starting with a C10, it would be simple and easy.
