Torq converter help
I have a 68 K20 with a 350/th350 combo. I picked up the transmission without a torque converter and needing help on the right one. I like the B&M converters but curious as to what stall. Here is what I’m working with for a cam and gear ratios.
Lift .450 intake .460 exhaust Duration 222° intake, 222° exhaust @ .050" tappet Centerline 114° ATDC intake, 114° BTDC exhaust Rpm Range 2000-6000 Dana 44 14 bolt 4.10 ratio Also any insight on how you decide this information. I’ve always just went 500rpm over the low end cam range but I know weight of vehicle and gear ratio play a factor. Thanks |

Re: Torq converter help
mostly street driving ???
the 500 over seems fine, the gearing and tire size will feel like a slightly higher stall. all depends on how you want to drive it....we have a very nice Chevy SS driving around (fully built), probably has a 3500 stall, and it sounds nasty at idle...but in town driving it sounds ill due to the converter stall. it is not street friendly at all. |
