1966 C10 motor mounts - Install tips?
Looking over the way the perches and motor mounts bolt together, it seems like the easiest way to install the motor is to bolt the rubber mounts to the frame perches, and THEN bolt the 3 bolts on the mount to the engine? I thought I could loosen the frame perches to give a little wiggle room to get the 3 motor mount bolts started on block.
Any other tips/tricks that will make this easier? |

The way I have always done it is to hog the hole in the bracket oversize. You can use a 5/8 drill bit or cutting torch. The thick flat washer will cover the extra large hole. Or you can leave the bolts loose that fasten the bracket to the block & tighten then after you get the bottom bolt started. I wouldn't try to put the 3 bolts in after the bottom bolt is in.

What I do is bolt the mounts to the block. Leave the frame brackets a little loose. lower the engine and get the center bolts in each side started and finger tight. Then tighten up everything.
