Raising a lowered truck up
So my new to me 65C 10 has quite a lowering kit with drop spindles and springs I would like to raise the front end up 1 inch due to bottoming out the tire on the top of the fender. Can I use a spring spacer to gain the inch or should I just replace the whole spring. I would love to just add airbags to the front so I had some adjustability thoughts ?

You can probably get stock springs for near free. I'd recommend MOOG 1Ton springs, and then just cut off enough from the end of the coil to get the height you want. They aren't as stiff as you might fear.
Bet you could trade the drop spindles for stock spindles. Smaller diameter wheels and tires would get you lower AND increase fender clearance.

I would go with springs too. I had a similar problem and added 1" lift spacer and went with 2" smaller dia tires. Kept the stance and look and fixed the rubbing.
Problem is the rubber spacers settle over time. It gets a little lower and changes the toe-in and wears the tires. My suburban is also unlevel, not a lot and no one notices but me. Eventually I am going to replace the springs and ditch the spacers. |

I will check out which McGuffeys spring is in the front and check their website for one that should give me an extra inch of ride height. I don’t want stock springs in it I like the way it looks maybe I’ll check out some bump stop extensions to stop the tire from hitting the fender just wondering if somebody else has come up with a better solution.

On my '77, I used 3" spindles and cut the original springs down for the height I wanted, but it bottomed out a lot; it was way too soft.
I replaced them with 1-ton springs (as mentioned above), and trimmed them only enough to get the height that I wanted. Because they are stiffer, it didn't bottom out any more, and didn't ride worse at all. Honestly, MANY lowering springs (for many different vehicles) are too soft for the amount of drop they provide. It is actually very good to go the 1-ton springs and trim them down to the height you want. They are stiffer, which is always good.
