Re: ls3 swap 4l60e hits floor
Stock LS3 oil pan? Those usually wont work on a truck, so maybe the engine is too high?

Ok 8 degrees in reference to what and that trans should clear the floor. Pictures would be a big help.

Re: ls3 swap 4l60e hits floor
(Hitting the floor).....do you mean floorboard of truck?
(8 degs rake)....is your frame level..0 degs.... and your driveline is 8 deg down in the rear ....is this what your sayin? If your already at 8 deg down in the rear that's to much ..should be around 3 deg downward angle...but it needs to match the differential upward angle...what is your diff angle when the truck is sitting on all 4s? You may need to do a trans tunnel or lower engine Like said some pics will help as well as what your putting it in..

Knowing the year of truck would help with giving possible solutions.

Re: ls3 swap 4l60e hits floor
I’ve got a 68 I LS swapped an LS3 and 4L80, running CPP engine mounts, DD sliders and stock trans mount I think I was roughly 4.5* down slope. 8 sounds high.

Re: ls3 swap 4l60e hits floor
can anyone recommend a oil pan swap ?
Okay i think i might have figured out the clearance problem. we used the rear ( six cylinder) engine mount holes, because of the oil pan clearance. we can movie the engine forward, that might level it out, but i don't see how it will lower the tranny. how do you upload pics ? |

I used the stock v8 perches in the v8 position with 1 inch set back plates and it doesn’t hit floor. Truck oil pan. I have a couple inches of clearance between tunnel and transmission. Angle is close but I have space to dial it in.
With a 1 inch setback the engine is in the same spot as a 350. I will be using another set of adapter plates so I can do a 2 inch setback to be able to use the original driveshaft. As it is, the yoke is not as far in as I’d like. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: ls3 swap 4l60e hits floor
Looks like these mounts make your engine sit too high. Same thing happened to me with the square body c20 mounts.
