Re: 73-91 K5 Blazer Jimmy rear sill scuff plates NEW
Do you still have some of these? Did you do a second run? If not, I would still be interested in one with minor scratches.
I tried to send you a private message, but it wouldn't let me and gave me this response, "Irish1941 has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space." |

Re: 73-91 K5 Blazer Jimmy rear sill scuff plates NEW
So sorry for my slow replies. Our small family got alittle smaller over past few months. Hospice and all that stuff.
Wasn't really thinking on truck stuff. Anyway, I have 15 plates left. Minor scratch here or there. Screw holes are little bigger than GM #6 head but #8 work just fine which they will come with. They are correct chrome oval head #8 but only a die hard would know the difference. I have enough packing material for 7 at the moment. $80 shipped quote still stands. Anyway... I'm pretty sure will be doing another run of these but it'll be month at least before I get it sorted it out. Trying new way to do it and eliminate the screw up factor. Metal costs have gone up too but price won't change as of this writing. Last edited by Irish1941; 09-25-2018 at 09:39 AM. |

Re: 73-91 K5 Blazer Jimmy rear sill scuff plates NEW
Had some questions about the degree of scratches so thought I'd post few pix so you can see what 99% of the scratches look like.
Most times the vinyl did its job. This one looks like it might be bad. Peel off the vinyl and looks to be scratched. But rub it with some acetone and it was just vinyl glue. Some are truly scratched though albeit small. Heres is one. Did penny for scale. peeled back vinyl. Wet sanded 1500 thru 2500 then quick hand polish with Mothers and its pretty much gone. Feel free to PM any questions. Down to 2 plates. First come first serve. If you want one reply to the thread. Last edited by Irish1941; 09-29-2018 at 11:34 PM. |

Any word on another run of these and if you'll be doing the front plate also?

Have you thought about doing the trim plates that go on the fulltops where they bolt back onto the body?

Sorry for slow reply.
I will do more depending on interest. Lots of “I want I want” but then crickets... As for the 73-77 front plate, I’d do it but it was stainless from GM and yet to find a good example to reproduce I assume that’s what you meant by full roof plate And I have 2 of the seconds left.. Re: 73-91 K5 Blazer Jimmy rear sill scuff plates NEW
I was asking about these plates along with the front and rear scuff plates. I would think there would be a market for all of these parts.

Ah..ok. 73-75 only. Your post makes senses now.
Those were heavy chrome plated steel No way I could do those without heavy investment. Just not enough of a market for the 35k trucks they built for those yrs. Maybe 10% left in exsistance. Be cheaper to fix and replate what you have. Had two pairs for ever and ended up just giving them away due to lack of interest Posted via Mobile Device |

Thanks for interest and patients!
I'm close to have another bunch done. I will also have the 73-77 rear floor front scuff plate that screws down behind the front seats. Working on few other things...stay tuned. |

Also curious when they are going to be done. I could use one on my 84 Blazer.
Thanks for your time! Weev-

I would be interested in one as as well...the cheap chinese one I bought wasn't long enough to reach the carpet, so it doesn't hold it down good.

Re: 73-91 K5 Blazer Jimmy rear sill scuff plates NEW
OK fellas
I got first test batch done. Minor tweaks and I'll be good to go. I'll also have the '73-'77 front plate for the rear floor ready by then as well It'll be made from stainless like the original. As soon as I figure out photo hosting, I'll post pix up Thanks! |
