Re: How did you get cab, box, burb, panel, blazer off the frame?
I don't remember what I was watching but I saw someone lifting a camper off a truck box with camper jacks. Ive never used them or seen them up close. Wondering if it would be possible to get a couple of 4x4's longer than a chassis is wide with the tires and wheels on it and slowly lift a burb, panel, cab, or even a box this way? Lift, roll out or under with the chassis and whalaaa?

I took a piece of plywood and a 2x4, nailed them together, and stuck that plywood side first up in the roof of the cab. Then I used my engine lift and lifted the cab off by placing the boom against the 2x4. The plywood spread out the weight of the cab over most of the interior roof, so no dents or bends.

Well I used an impact to get the bolts off on my bed what I couldn't I welded the tops of the bolts to the bed and continued and 3 guys including me got it off. The cab I used an impact to remove the bolts then me and a buddy of mine lifted it off the frame and set it down on the ground 10 feet away although at college when I got the cab off the trailer I used the help of 6 guys.

The drawback to this method is you have to have plenty of room on each side of the vehicle. This is how we do it now.
