Doors for sale!!!
Hey guys and gals!!! I bought a 76 chevy truck from Arizona and it arrived on a flat bed friday night, I am using most of the parts on my 76 stepside, but I do not need the doors. I am told they fit 73-87 trucks, they are excellent doors, all in tact with no rust anywhere, if your interested make an offer, or if you want them I will bring them to the Pittsburgh Parts-a-rama next weekend, I know shiping would be huge, thanks guys and gals!!

Somewhere here I recall someone showed with pix the differences between 73-76 and 73-87 doors. Any info about that or leads to that post?
Sanity's Bane, I'd heard the same thing about being thinner glass and metal...part of weight reduction with the slight restyle as I understand it. But supposedly they will all fit? Do laters fit earliers but not vice versa?? Brian |

My understanding is that the 73-76's were different in some noteworthy way, but I don't recall what it is. I have a 77, and want some doors but want them to fit. The 79 would have fit the 83, other than the metal/glass thickness, and maybe how the vent windows were set up.
AspecialZ, I'm not trying to hijack your thread, just so's you understand If we do bidness, I want to make sure I don't buy what won't fit No reflection on you! Brian |

ANY door from 1973-1987 will fit any truck from 1973-1987. The difference between the doors are the door panels and guts. 1973-1976 doors are unique to themselves. The guts and door panels will only fit doors of the same years. 1977 on up, all parts interchange I believe.
Chris has some pics of gutted doors and their differences, maybe he will chime in and shed some more light on your questions. FYI - 1973-1976 doors are ALOT more expensive than 77 up doors, this is even if GM still sells them.

AzpecialZ,
I'll pass on these '76 doors. They look really good but from what Jeff has said and Chris' info, it would not be what I'm looking for...the inner door panels won't transfer, plus the innards are unique to those first three years despite the doors themelves fitting fine. From what was written, you might get a good price for them from a 73-76 owner who wants some really good OEM doors...esp in NJ Thanks for your patience, guy! Brian |

FWIW, you can put a 77-newer door panel on an older door by using screws into the door on an older door, but you cannot put the older door panel on a newer door.

Trucking (LTL) would be a 100.00 easy. Check ups to 63129 St. Louis Mo let me know what it would cost to ship.
