wheel well gasket
so my truck didn't come with wheel wells. I was able to source a pair but noticed the firewall edge had staples through the metal. I'm assuming there was some sort of gasket from the factory. what are people using these days and how much of the far edge is covered? the far edge has a lot of cut outs so I'm having a hard time picturing how the gasket would sit.

Re: wheel well gasket
The inner fender gasket from the factory was a round gasket with a leg protruding from it. The staples pierced the leg and the inner fender. The replacement gasket is a "U" shaped foam gasket that slips over the edge of the inner fender at the firewall. One can apply a small amount 3M black to keep it in place.

Re: wheel well gasket
It is just rubber u-channel. The complete weatherstrip kit I bought included them.
